Recently, the Ministry of Education announced the list of national and provincial first-class undergraduate major construction sites in 2021. The statistics major of our school was selected as the national first-class undergraduate major construction site. Our school has been approved for two national first-class undergraduate major construction sites.
The statistics major of Jiangsu University was founded in 1986. In 1997, it was approved as the first authorized master's degree in statistics in Jiangsu Province. In 2012, it was approved as a key major in Higher Education in Jiangsu Province during the 12th Five Year Plan. During the construction and development of more than 30 years, the statistics major has been guided by the national data power strategy and based on the construction of key majors in Jiangsu Province, cultivating compound high-level statistics talents.
Under the leadership and guidance of the University and the school, the statistics major will continue to adhere to the professional development idea of "knowledge-based and skills-based," give full play to the demonstration, guidance and collaborative improvement of national first-class majors, lead and promote the connotative development of undergraduate professional quality, and promote the talent training ability and talent training quality to a new level.
